Children

WCC KIDS Ministry

We exist to come alongside parents to help lead their child(ren) into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

At WCC, we believe children are a tremendous joy and gift from the Lord. They are so creative, energetic, passionate, expressive, and impressionable. We consider it a divine privilege to be a part of helping parents teach their children about the amazing love and life-transforming power of Jesus.

We seek to do this in two primary ways: first, by freeing up the parents to be able to attend the worship service where they are fed and encouraged, and second, by focusing our attention on teaching the children about our precious Savior through the Bible.

The WCC Kids format varies according to our different services (8:30 and 10:15), but generally, we have separate classes for the following age groups:

  • Preschool
  • Kindergarten-1st grade
  • 2nd-3rd grade
  • 4th-5th grade

Nursery / Waddlers

Behold children are a gift from the Lord, and the fruit of the womb a reward.

Psalms 127:3

Our Nursery and Waddler Ministries are much more than a babysitting service. Rather, they provide divine appointments with eternal souls wrapped up in wonderful little bodies. We see this as a tremendous opportunity and responsibility!

Our true desire is to come alongside parents to make Christ real and known in the life of the child(ren) and their family. We believe that we can help facilitate this by providing a loving, secure and healthy environment for our little ones, which points their hearts to the Savior, Jesus Christ.

The nursery and waddler rooms are open during our worship services, where we generally provide a Nursery for children 0-18 months and Waddlers for children 18 months-3 years. Once children are potty trained, we encourage parents to move them to the Preschool room.

Child Safety

WCC Kids uses a check-in system where you and your child will both be given security tags. Make sure and hang on to your tag, as it has a unique code that you will need to pick up your child. All of our staff and volunteers have undergone background checks and specific child safety training through an organization called Verified First. Our staff and volunteers abide by a rigorous set of policies and procedures that creates a safe environment for your child.

Weekly Devotions

Weekly Devotions give an opportunity for parents and children to dig into God’s Word together for 10-15 minutes a day. These devotions correlate with the classroom lessons taught to the children on Sundays. Be amazed at how God works through these children and the Bible!
